Today's international rap is about a French rap group called "Lunatic". Lunatic consists of 2 members Booba and Ali. Booba is mixed Senegalese and French and Ali is Arab, both are from the urban area of France called Haute de Siene. The French hip hop scene is similar to the early 90's east coast hip hop scene, and its even more evident in Lunatics' music, and to add to France also has the second largest hip hop market and produces the second largest amount of rappers after the U.S.. This group managed to put out what is considered 2 classic hip hop albums in the Francophone rap scene.Unfortunately In 2002 the duo split up for unknown reasons. Booba has since released several platinum albums after the break up and a clothing line and will be featured on 50 cent's next LP. We hope you enjoy this weeks international segment!!
